Scripture Reading: 1Samuel 16:1-13
Main Text
1Samuel 16:11
'And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.”
And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.”
It has ever been God’s way to find His agents in unexpected places. Here a great king is found in his sheepfold.
In Joseph’s time a prime minister of Egypt was found in the prison. God is never at a loss for agents, and if the men fail that might naturally have been looked for to do Him service, substitutes for them are not far to seek. Out of the very stones He can raise up children to Abraham.
Jesse, the father of David tried to convince Samuel how unfit David was for such position; “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep” but Samuel couldn't sit until David was brought to be anointed.
When God's appointed time for your life is due, your geographical location does not matter. Your destiny determines your destination in life. God always reserves the best for His glory.
Prayer:
Sovereign Lord, thank You for Your appointed time to glorify Yourself in my life in Jesus name, Amen.
The Lord bless and keep you!
Shalom
