Topic: Renewed In Strength
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 40:28-31, Deuteronomy 29:5
Main Text
Isaiah 40:30-31
'Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.'
Legend says that an Eagle at the age of 30-50, flies to a high place and there it endures a harsh trial of endurance and change. It can’t fly because its feathers are overgrown. Therefore it plucks all the feathers from its body. It plucks its talons from its feet because the talons have grown curled and useless. Its beak has grown too long and curled. It breaks its beak against a rock. Defenseless, it cries out and waits for the time of renewal to soar higher. Other Eagles hear its cry, and come to aid. They fly overhead, scaring off predators, and they bring food to their incapacitated friend.
To wait upon the Lord for strength implies that we recognize our weakness. When you renounce your own strength, you will surely be renewed in strength by the Lord.
When the Israelites waited upon the Lord in the wilderness, for forty years their clothes were not worn out on them, and their sandals were not worn out on their feet.
Until God's purpose or promise comes to pass in your life, your strength shall always be renewed as you wait upon Him.
When you're troubled in one way or another, seek for God’s strength and your relationship with Him will be renewed. But God never forsakes or leaves behind His children at these times of correction. He is with you because He wants to renew your strength at the end of the trial period.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I receive grace today to wait upon You in life for renewal of strength in Jesus' name. Amen
Have a blessed week!
Shalom
