Topic: The Redemption
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 53:1-12, 2Cor 5:21
Main Text
Isaiah 53:4-5
'Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.'
People often conclude that a person is suffering because he or she has done something bad, and God is punishing him or her. This was the viewpoint of Job's friends.
Christ's suffering and death on the cross brought us satisfaction. He endured all the sorrows and contempt for our redemption. He who knew no sin was made sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Any form of sorrow one possesses can be seen as an 'illegal possession' because it's been paid for by the blood of Jesus. Just accept this report regardless of your condition and you'll see a performance.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the cross of Jesus which has redeemed me from every pain and sorrow in Jesus' name. Amen
Tell a neighbour about Jesus Christ today. Blessings!
