Topic: The Helper
Scripture Reading: Romans 8:18-30, John 14:15-26, 16:13
Main Text
Romans 8:25-27
'But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.'
Our weaknesses don't hinder God from accomplishing His purpose for our lives.
Whenever we yield to the Spirit of God we're able to receive strength to fulfil God's promises for our lives.
From verses 18-25 Paul, the Apostle gives reasons for why we should hold fast to our hope in the midst of futility and decay and groaning and death. Now Paul says, "likewise" – in the same way – the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness.
Prayer for God's help is one way that God preserves and manifests the dependence of His people on His grace and power. The necessity of prayer is a constant reminder and display of our dependence on God for everything, so that He gets the glory when we get the help.
Jesus promised to send another helper to us- the Holy Spirit, who will guide us into all truth. He intercedes for us not according to circumstances but according to the will of God.
Trust Him, that because He is praying for you, your Father will bring about decisions and circumstances that will magnify Christ in the best way – in the very midst of your ignorance and groaning.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the intercession of the Holy Spirit according to Your will for my life in Jesus' mighty name. Amen
God bless and keep you!
Shalom
